I am focused on providing fun, funky,fabulous twentieth century fashions and fashionable accessories, vintage and soon to be vintage items for you and your home. Tell me what kinds of things you collect. I am always hunting, so I might as well hunt for you too. :) You never know what I might have or what I may come across.
I started trading comic books when I was eleven, living in Fort Greene in Brooklyn, and the rest is history. I have been buying and selling ever since. My Mom loved shopping,- thrift shops, department stores, auctions,- anywhere a treasure might be found. I inherited the gene. I love vintage fashions and accessories for myself and my home. I trust you feel the same way.
I played an appraiser on several TV shows. (Personal FX, The Collectibles Show, for nearly four years, Treasures in Your Home out of Virginia Beach for about a year, and made appearances on Metro TV's Show and Sale. I shot a pilot for The Learning Channel with Keith Hernandez. Umm, that was ten years ago, shall I stop waiting for that call back? You know I loved the glamour of it all: wardrobe, hair, makeup, lights, camera, action ...soo ME. I am still waiting for them to call me for my Vannah Black assignment.. LOL. However, nothing beats the dual rush of finding a treasure and knowing one of my darling clients (That's You) will love it as much as I do.
So here I am, after an absence of more than ten years, with stored up goodies and a desire to share them... for the right price. Claro! LOL.
The missing ten years were spent teaching reading and math through the arts to middle school students in Queens. I loved my job, just hated getting up and out so early every morning, especially in the cold ass winter. I miss my co-workers.
Whenever you are in New York City, come by and say hello, check out the goodies we currently have on sale, pick out and buy something fabulous for yourself or someone special. I am located in a delicious group shop in Chelsea. We are right in the midst of the International Antiques Fleaing action. It is so fun. I am NOT in the shop every day. I am there most Saturdays and and some Sundays, for a few hours each day. Other days are by chance or by appointment. Booth 11 is my piece of the turf. (It's part fab, part fun and generally a hot mess most days, just like me. LOL)
HEY IT IS EARLY SPRING. I am not to be depended on for the next few weeks. I hibernate if it's too chilly (for me) or if it's damp or whatever. If you need to see me, rather than just the merchandise, call ahead. If you need anything available in the booth, please see Victor. He will help you.
